Playing on Danger Radio Episode 41 are the first 2 of the 4 sets I played on my last night as a resident DJ at Lipgloss (Aug. 28, 2009). The first sets are usually where I play favorites of the staff and myself without much care for working a dance floor. It’s not the most elegant sounding couple of sets I’ve ever done, but they are definitely fun to dance to. I’m certainly not a turntablist and if I were it’s unlikely any of you would be a fan of mine, so appreciate this for what it is… a chance to hear songs in a club that you’ve never heard in a club before. Dancing with friends to songs that you’ve never been able to dance in public to.

I plug it on the show, but I’m plugging it here too – Mile High Soul Club is the night before Thanksgiving at The Shag Lounge. Come out and dance to some soul with myself, my partner Dogboy and our guest Scott Dammit!

Kind of a banner week here. As some of you may know, one of the many hats I wear within the Denver3 ogranization, in addition to DJ and promoter, is also graphic designer. I was particularly pleased with my poster for the LIPGLOSS 8 YEAR ANNIVERSARY party that’s happening tonight (for those of you reading this on Friday, June 26).  Turns out that my Denver 3 partner, Michael Trundle (aka boyhollow) submitted the design to Westword for the flier of the week and… it won.

This is oddly exciting to me. With all of the attention being paid to us this week, this one made me happier than anything.

Who’s that handsome man pulling a record out of a freezer display? An interview conducted over email for the last couple of days with former Danger Radio guest and Gigbot head, Sean Porter, has been posted on Gigbot.com – Click here to read it.

Don’t forget to come see me this Friday night (Did I mention NO COVER and guest dj Andy from Thieves Like Us?) at LIPGLOSS for our EIGHT YEAR ANNIVERSARY.
