See – it’s not just on the show that I argue with friends about music. It’s on Facebook too. Below is an part of an arguement between me and my good friend Noah about Pomplamoose. I say “part” of an arguement, because like the American military, I was fighting on multiple fronts – a whole different string of arguement about this exact same video was happening on Noah’s facebook page at the same time.
So – here to tide you over until Danger Radio Episode 51…. (Read the whole damn thing after the cut)
Jake Ryan is coughing up a lung and I split my palm open today slipping on ice. Will Danger Radio Episode 51 happen tonight as scheduled? Only the bones know for sure…. I don’t want to leave you in the dark as to the delay though.

The other day I mentioned a song that I recently discovered in the bowels of my music collection. That song was The Arcade Fire – Black Mirror (Full-Source Remix). Some of you may have been disappointed in your old pal Danger when you realized that I gave you a dead link. (Thanks for the heads up Nala).
By now you’ve surely listened to Danger Radio Episode 35 and heard the remix. As I promised in that episode, here is the link to download that sucka for your own collection.
In the fall of 2003, I had an obligation to take a trip from Denver to Athens, Ga and back again. This is back before I had an iPod (which, as irony would have it, is where I am today since my iPhone died yesterday) so I only had a few CDs with me for the journey. This song is one I played over and over again on the trip back. I’m fairly sure that because of that, my wife now has an aversion to Yo La Tengo and Fugu (the other band I played over and over again as we passed through St. Louis).
Yo La Tengo are rolling through Denver on Oct. 10 and you can be sure that you will see me there.
Drew Grow and the Pastors’ Wives make their home in Portland, and meld together a scuzzy, squally blend of rebellious gospel/folk that at times possesses the radiant buoyancy of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, and in quieter moments the seeping warmth of M Ward or intelligent, lovely meanderings of Elvis Perkins. It’s wild […]
There are two Scottish indiepop festivals lined up for October and December. Between Friday October 22nd and Sunday the 24th Edinburgh hosts it’s inaugural (I think) pop fest. Bands appearing over the three days include Ballboy, Pocketbooks, Bearsuit, Red Shoe Diaries, Darren Hayman, Suburban Kids With Biblical names amongst others. You can view the full [.. […]
It was a 3OH!3 show at the Fox Theatre in Boulder two years ago when Kamtin Mohager stood alone on the stage with an iPod and his bass guitar as The Chain Gang of 1974. In 2010, things are quite different for the songwriter. Kamtin’s lone line up has grown from two, to three, to four people on stage and a ton more instruments in the mix. The new album, White […]
Modern Glossy’s Maria Giannakakis interviews Vassilios Kostetsos during fashion week in New York. Watch the exclusive video interview backstage and the runway show below. Designer Vassilios Kostetsos frequently turns to his heritage for inspiration, as he did for Fall/Winter 2010. With his muse being the greek drama Antigone, Vassilios brought forth a sexual […]
Toronto – Ruby Coast has always been one of those bands I’ve heard about, but have never heard. However, that streaked stopped recently when I listened to the Aurora, Ontario band’s recently released free EP – Whatever This Is/Creep Me Out which is free with a tweet or a facebook post. Get used to social […]
Thai soap sensation Hugo was a guest on my show tonight. He shares a practice space with Your Vegas and Mat told me good things about Hugo's music. The EVR guys set it up so he would perform a song live in the booth, and it was his cool cover version of Jay Z's 99 Problems. His version includes a banjo. We talked about his acting skills, the song h […]
